RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's MORELLO, DE LA ROCHA To Appear At CIW TRUTH Event In Chicago

April 11, 2007

According to Punknews.org, before RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's high-profile Cochella reunion show, Tom Morello and and Zack de la Rocha will perform for free in Chicago for the 2007 Coalition of Immokalee Workers Truth Tour. The April 14 rally comes right after the announcement that McDonald's will meet all of the demands made by the CIW, a community-based farmworker organization whose members are largely Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida.

Morello and de la Rocha will be part of a "Carnaval and Parade" that will make its way through downtown Chicago and return to Federal Plaza for a celebratory rally featuring CIW members, allies, and a dynamic lineup of other well-known artists, musicians and speakers. The "Carnaval and Parade" will be composed of blocks, contingents, music groups, and theater organized by the CIW and allies.
